I was diagnosed with Parkinson Disease at the age 46 in the Fall of 2021. I had actually seen my first signs of tremor 10 years prior, but was still blindsided by the diagnosis. I really struggled with depression and anxiety over it and it made my symptoms worse- quickly- to where I was falling more frequently. I had begun to use a cane daily. Then I found Rock Steady Boxing 2 years ago and my life has CHANGED!! Within 3 months I was stronger in every way and got rid of my cane! We know in the PD community that exercise is one sure way to slow the progression of this disease- it is the one of the few things we can control. BUT we really need a cure! Giving toward my goal will not only help towards a cure, but also towards resources and support for us here in WI!?
