Thank you for taking the time to check out A Place to Belong! Here is a little background on why I am asking for your support.

I have had the good fortune to start and continue my career in Therapeutic Recreation at NSSRA over the past 18 years. The programs offered by NSSRA allow participants to experience joy through play, grow as individuals and create lifelong friendships. I have shared in many of these moments over the years at afterschool programs, social events, Gator Athletics, camps, trips and the ELA adult day program. NSSRA  does impactful work every day for people with disabilities and the community.

After a six year search, NSSRA purchased a former synagogue in Highland Park last year and embarked on a capital campaign to fund the building renovations. The renovations will include a large lounge, teaching kitchen, great room for dances, fitness and art rooms, and creating a home for the ELA Program. This facility will create opportunities to expand adult day programming as well as other ongoing offerings for more participants. Just recently surpassing $2M in gifts and pledges, the campaign is being brought to as many people as possible to reach the $2.2M goal so renovation work can begin. A contribution of any size will move the project one step closer to the goal!
