A healthy diet is important for everyone. But what if your body is under attack? This is the reality for many cancer patients, especially when the treatment they need can also impact healthy tissue and muscle. Knowing what to eat at each stage of treatment can make all the difference.
Thanks to your gifts to the Associate Month of Giving campaign, every patient at the Health First Cancer Institute receives Eating Hints. This handbook, published by the Cancer Patient Education Network, was designed to use before, during, and after cancer treatment. It helps patients navigate their treatment journey by providing valuable advice on managing the side effects of treatment through nutrition. It also addresses common eating problems and provides practical tips for managing them.
Tracy Wagner, Clinical Director of Oncology Operations, shares what this means to her. “Our team is grateful that we can offer resources like the Eating Hints guidebook and dietary counseling to cancer patients. Our donors are truly making a difference.”
