My Story

I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in March, 2014 just two weeks after my 6th birthday. I am the youngest of 4 daughters and at first, I was very scared about what having diabetes would mean.  Would I ever be able to go to a sleepover again?  Could I eat cupcakes anymore?  Why me?   I am so happy that I was able to go to Camp Seale Harris.  Going to camp showed me that I wasn't alone, and that although diabetes is something that I have to live with every day, I am not alone and that I don't have to let diabetes slow me down.  I am 10 now and I view having type 1 as an opportunity to educate my friends and classmates about what living with diabetes is all about.   Thank you Camp Seale Harris for inpspiring that confidence.   I appreciate your love and your prayers and for any amount that you can give to support Camp Seale Harris. -Isaiah 40:31
