Why I'm walking for water on May16

I want to create a river of change

If I need water, all I have to do is turn on a faucet right in my home. Easy. For the people of the Azawak it's a totally different story. Children, mothers and fathers alike struggle to find water on a daily basis, sometimes traveling as many as 34 miles in a day in search of what I consider everyday, regular, and essential.  This is unneccessary.  Abundant water is beneath their feet! Only Amman Imman: Water is Life is making this water available for the people of the Azawak.  And Amman Imman doesn't stop there! Water is only the beginning. With the construction of our "Oases of Life", there are trees growing, schools are being built, kids are going to school, women are learning skills, health centers are being built, herds of cows and goats that provide milk and livelihood are being brought back to communities that had been depleted of everying. Lives are beginning to flourish.

Why am I walking for water on May 16?  I'm walking for water for the Azawak and asking others to walk with me because I know that together we can create a river of potential that streams into even the most driest of places, rallying the cry "Water is Life". And we can make it happen.
