Latino America Unida, Lambda Alpha Upsilon Fraternity, Inc. is a network of professional men working to promote the development of the Latino community in colleges and neighborhoods across the US. The fraternity was founded on December 10, 1985 at the University of Buffalo (SUNY) by 16 diverse men who had a dream of uniting the Latino community and empowering our members to become the best version of themselves.

Since our establishment, Hermanos continue to work hard to expand our founders' mission and vision. Hermanos live by our three pillars: Brotherhood, Scholarship and Service. Brotherhood to support each other personally and academically and achieve excellence in every field of human endeavor. Scholarship to enrich our fraternity, families and communities as leaders in our professions. Service to give back to the campuses and neighborhoods that played crucial roles in our formative years.

Latino America Unida, Lambda Alpha Upsilon Fraternity, Inc. supports AIDS Walk because it has long recognized that no single organization can meet all the critical needs that arise from HIV/AIDS. Moreover, AIDS Walk raises critical funds to support education, prevention, research, care, treatment and support services. Care Resource improves upon the health and overall quality of life of our diverse South Florida communities in need.

HIV/AIDS disproportionately affects members of the Latin and African American communities due to a variety of factors, including lack of education, resources and health care. We feel a responsibility to support our communities so we can continue to enjoy the sense of family and culture for many generations.
