Every 9 seconds, a woman is battered in the United States.

In CT alone, there were 13 domestic violence confirmed homicides last year, with nearly 40,000 victims of domestic violence seeking help in our state each year.

These stats do not include the physical, mental and emotional abuse that victims experience on a daily basis.

The Umbrella Center for Domestic Violence Services (UCDVS) provides emergency shelter, 24-hour crisis hotline, counseling, court advocacy and support services to over 7,700 victims and their children each year. Our mission is to make sure our community members have the tools and support system to live free from violence and fear, especially in their own homes.
