Help me support teen parents with their education!
When we started Generations Ahead in 2019, one core belief we had was: becoming a parent shouldn't mean giving up on your future.
Since, I had the privilege of watching and being a part of nearly 50 young parents earn their high school diploma. Each one is a reminder of what can happen when a young parent has encouragement, resources, and a community that believes in them.
Although I retired as Executive Director this past February, my heart for these young families hasn't changed.
Today, Generations Ahead serves more than 75 young parents, and nearly a third of them will be heading back to school this fall. But "back-to-school" looks very different when you're raising a child. It's not about new clothes or school supplies. It's about balancing work, parenting, classes, and wondering how you'll make it all work.
That's why I'm supporting Generations Ahead's Second Annual Back-to-School Campaign. Your gift helps remove barriers like childcare, transportation, and other basic needs so young parents can stay focused on earning a diploma or degree.
Supporting the mission and these amazing and capable young parents didn't retire when I did. There are still young parents who need someone to believe in them, and I hope you'll join me in helping them cross the finish line.
