As Chair of the Generations Ahead Board of Directors, I've had the privilege of seeing firsthand what happens when a teen parent has a community behind them.
The reality is that fewer than 50% of teen parents earn a high school diploma by age 22. Yet this past June, Generations Ahead celebrated a record nine graduates. These are young moms and dads who refused to let the odds define their future.
With a new school year starting soon, many more teen parents are working toward that same finish line. I'm raising funds to help remove barriers like childcare, transportation, groceries, and other basic needs so they can stay focused on earning a diploma or degree while raising their children.
