During an otherwise healthy pregnancy, Kade was born at just 29 weeks gestation after developing pre-eclampsia.  He was born at just 3lb. 3oz and was considered the "big boy on campus" in the neonatal unit at Childrens Hospital MN.  

We spent the first 2 weeks there under excellent care before being transferred to Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia, MN. We watched and waited....and snuggled him close while he learned to eat and breathe on his own.  After many days and hours in the hospital rocking chair, he was finally ready to come home at 65 days old!  

The journey wasn't over, but he is certainly one of the lucky ones with no long term health conditions or side effects, unlike many other premature babies.  

We will be forever grateful for the incredible doctors and nurses who cared for Kade.  These small and often very ill babies require a speacial kind of care, and special kinds of people to care for them.  Please help us support and "Give Back" to these amazing caregivers and help all of the other families now and in the future who will endure a similar experience.
