On July 15, 2014, we were blessed to finally welcome our twin baby boys, Jaxon Ryan and Mason Allan into the world. Born at 37 weeks and weighing in at 6 lb 4oz and 6 lb 5oz respectively, we were shocked to find that Mason would be rushed immediatly to Children's in St. Paul to undergo Anoplasty surgery. Mason is by far the happiest and strongest little boy and has done so well with what he has been dealt! He smiles continuously, coming and going from his many Doctor apointments and before and after surgeries. The road to recovery has been a long and tiring one, but his bright smile has made the whole process easier to handle. Mason's final connection surgery (colostomy takedown) was performed on March 25, 2015 - for the first time since he has been born, Mason no longer has a bag attached to his side!
We look forward to celebrating the end of this long journey with Mason at the Baby Steps 3K on Saturday, May 30 at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds. Please donate in honor of Mason to help future babies like him who need the love, care, and attention that the Neonatal Department at Children's can offer. As parents who witnessed these skilled workers handle our tiny baby, we are so appreciative for the work they do and the love they give our little, tiny, fragile babes during such a difficult time.
