Mackenzie Knoche

Hi Everyone!

My name is Mackenzie, and I surprised my parents at my 32 week appointment. Unfortunately, the placenta had a blood clot that caused me to stop obtaining the nutrients to fully develop. I was born via emergency C-section Friday June 7th, 2013 weighing 2lbs, 1 ounce. I was immediately placed into the NICU at St. John’s Hospital where I would stay for only a few weeks before being transported to Children’s Hospital for a staph infection. After multiple surgeries, and almost 3 months in the NICU, I was finally able to leave on August 28th.

Although my birth and 1st few months of life was tough, I cannot thank my doctors and nurses enough for the amazing care & support they provided to both my parents and I. On my go home day, it was so nice to have so many hugs and well wishes from our new friends.

I will be 2, yes 2 very soon and I am happy & healthy as ever. I cannot wait to participate in this year’s walk and I ask all of you my family & friends to please either join me or support me in my walk on May 30th. I believe in Miracles…do you?
