Sam was born with a condition called Hirschsprung's disease.  The nerve cells near the end of the intestine were not developed, so Sam could not pass his stool.  It took a week at the hospital to figure this out, and another week to fix it.  The hospital staff were wonderful.  The doctors, nurses, and desk workers were all so supportive during this time.  Sam spent his first Christmas in the hospital, but Santa did not forget about him there, or any of the other babies.  Santa made a visit to everyone prior to the big day, and when we awoke Christmas morning, a stocking with a toy was waiting for him.

Sam will have to go back again in a month or two to complete a second operation, that will cure his condition.

Please consider donating or joining his team and walking with us to support the hospital that has supported us at a difficult time.  Thank you.
