We've been blessed with two wonderful preemies.  Our first, Leo, was born at 28 weeks.  And our second, Max, was born at 32 weeks.  Leo and Max are amazing kiddos, and we are so blessed to have been able to deliver them at Mother Baby Center and have the expertise of Children's take over just seconds after they were born.

Leo was born at 28 weeks, weighing just 1 lb. 14 oz.  He was delivered due to HELLP.  Leo was intubated for a short time, but had a pretty uneventful stay in the NICU and ICC.  He spent 93 days at Children's and struggled to get off oxygen support and comfortably eat.  Today, he is still tiny, but that doesn't seem to get in the way of anything else.  Currently, our days consist of talking about garbage cans and garbage trucks.  Tuesday is a big day at our house because everybody has their garbage cans out and the garbage trucks make their rounds all day!  We are blessed with all the progress our little guy has made in two short years.

Max joined his big brother as a preemie in November.  He was delivered due to preeclampsia at 32 weeks and weighed 3 lbs. 14 oz.  HUGE compared to his big brother.  Now, he is a very smiley 5 month old.  He hates sleeping and enjoys observing his brothers every move.  He spent 32 days in the NICU and Special Care Nursery.  His stay was also pretty uneventful.  He needed to be on CPap for a couple of days in the NICU after birth then moved to the SCN.  He stayed until he was able to take his feedings.  He also failed his car seat test two times, before passing it on the third try.  

We are now all home and so happy to be together; even if it means sleepless nights.  When life doesn't go as planned during pregnancy and delivery, we can't imagine a better place to spend over four months as a family.  We are so proud of our kiddos, and are so very thankful to the nurses and neonatologists at Children's.
