Ballin' at Belmont presented by National University

What To Expect

Come dribble your way through Belmont Park! All registrants and fundraising participants will receive a souvenir basketball to dribble around a 1/2 mile course at Belmont Park. Whether you are new to basketball or a veteran player, all are welcome to test their skills and navigate the park while raising money for a great cause. The course concludes at the Beach House, where a post-event breakfast and program will be held. And once the game clock hits 11:00 AM, all Ballin' at Belmont participants can enjoy the Belmont Park attractions against the backdrop of Mission Beach. 

Event Timeline:

  • 9:30am – Registration Open
  • 10am – “Ballin' At Belmont” Start
  • Post-Event Reception at Beach House
    • Includes food, fun, and a short and engaging program
  • 11am – Belmont Park attractions open

Event Participant ($100)
Dribble through Belmont Park, raise funds, and earn incentives as you reach donation levels! All registered participants will receive:

  • Souvenir Basketball
  • Participant T-Shirt
  • Post-Event Reception Access
  • Belmont Park Attraction Wristband (Good for all rides/attractions)
  • A voucher to Try the Y + a $0 Join Fee to any YMCA of San Diego County location*

Spectator/Reception Guest ($40)
Watch the dribblers go by and then join us for a post-event private reception and breakfast at the Beach House at the end of the dribble route.

Much More than a Game: Basketball, the Beach, and Rady Children's Invitational

Ballin' at Belmont Presented by National University

Ballin' at Belmont is a fundraiser hosted by Sports San Diego benefiting Rady Children's Hospital Foundation. But how did a college basketball tournament, the beautiful beaches of San Diego, and the nationally-ranked Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego come together in the first place? The answer comes down to a shared love of sports, the power of partnership, and a desire to make a positive impact on our community. 

Rady Children's Invitational: Much More than a Game

The Rady Children's Invitational is a two-day tournament taking place November 23-24, 2023, at LionTree Arena on the UC San Diego campus. Tipping off on Thanksgiving Day, we are starting a new holiday tradition for families and sports fans who want to enjoy basketball and the beach for a unique holiday experience. The 2023 field includes USC, Iowa, Oklahoma, and Seton Hall. 

But the Rady Children's Invitational is much more than a game. As title sponsors of the event produced by Sports San Diego, Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego believes keeping kids healthy is just as important as healing them from illness and injury. Rady Children’s support of college basketball will help inspire today’s kids to engage in movement that develops character, encourages teamwork, and builds perseverance.

Taking place a week before the Rady Children's Invitational, the Ballin' at Belmont fundraiser is the perfect way for Sports San Diego to support the fantastic efforts of Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego. And of course, this event had to happen by the beach, with basketballs. A lot of basketballs. 

Sports San Diego 

Sports San Diego is a 501c3 nonprofit with a mission to generate tourism, visibility, and economic impact for the San Diego region by producing and recruiting outstanding events and experiences for visitors and local fans of all ages. Sports San Diego produces the Rady Children's Invitational and serves as San Diego's sports commission. Sports San Diego hosts the Ballin' for Belmont fundraiser, and the net proceeds will be donated to the Rady Children's Hospital Foundation.
