Bikes Not Bombs uses the bicycle as a vehicle for social change, both in the Boston community and around the world. Through their youth programs, local kids learn bike safety and mechanic skills, en route to earning bikes to keep for themselves. Through this work and their bike shop, BNB provides jobs and sustainable transportation to those in need.
BNB also partners with organizations in other countries, including Guatemala, El Salvador, Uganda and Kenya, to provide bikes to communities there. Those bikes create all sorts of positive change - from volunteer health workers who use them to reach patients in remote areas, to bicimáquina technology that helps Guatemalan communities develop economically in a way that's still environmentally friendly.
I'm excited to support Bikes Not Bombs and all the valuable work they do. While I've never done a 30-mile ride before, I'm looking forward to the challenge, and I appreciate any donation you can make to the cause!
