Hi friends, 

BNB has been such a meaningful part of my experience joining the community in Boston, and in JP, for the last 4 years. I have been continuously amazed by the inclusivity, willingness to welcome, and empowering nature of this organization and all of the people involved in it. The group Femmechanics, which is supported by BNB, has been particularly impactful for me. As a result of getting to know the amazing people in the organization and getting involved, 2 summers ago I accomplished my first 50+ mile ride on a bike-camping trip. I can also now independently fix a flat, adjust my brakes, change my brake pads and my handlebar tape, and realign my wheels. While I've been able to be less involved in the organization in the past year, it is a testament to them that I've been able to independently maintain my bike in the meantime! 

This year will be my first time riding the 50 mile course for Bike-a-Thon, and my 2nd time ever riding this distance. While I rely on my trusty red bike for communting every day, I usually average 6 or 7 miles a day (so I have some training to do). I am so pumped to accomplish this in the company of a community I care so much about. 

Aside from my personal love of BNB, this organization is sincerely committed to positive social change both in our community in Boston and in the world at large. If you ever ride around JP, you've probably seen their learning rides for young riders or their truck full of donated bikes to refurbish and ship to communities who can use them. I strongly encourage you to check out more of what they do on their site!
