Bikes Not Bombs is a fantastic local organization that reclaims old, abandoned, broken, and/or donated bikes and either ships them overseas to developing countries or gives them to people in the Boston area who could use them. They teach teens basic bike mechanics and generally try to use bikes to spur social change. They're just a couple blocks away from us, and this bikeathon is a great way to have fun, do a nice ride with our community, and support them all at the sane time.
