It all started in 2012 when 4-year-old Erik and his Papa set off on a trailer-bike rig to cover 25 miles and ended up doing almost 28 counting wrong turns. It was epic and, despite a melt-down or two along the way, we were hooked. Since then it's become an annual tradition for our entire blended family of five: Erik (10), Wesley (11), Greta (13), Angela (older) and Kurt (much older).
As ever, it's a great cause for a great organization that puts on a wonderful family event in support of social justice through biking. And for us it comes with cool t-shirts, roadside snacks, a picnic at the end, and random used bike-part medals for the kids. Nice, huh?
