I love getting outside with friends as much as possible and didn't begin running until a few years ago, then I fell in love with it. Similar to reading, I didn’t truly commit to the hobby until I was older —and I genuinely wish I had started both so much earlier in life (even though I know my Mom and Grandma always told me to...) There’s something powerful about both: putting in the work mile after mile, page after page, and knowing the reward only comes from showing up consistently. That idea—that small, repeated effort leads to something bigger—is exactly why I’m raising money for Brooklyn Book Bodega. They’re working to make sure every child has access to books at home, helping build the kind of habits and opportunities that can shape a lifetime. In a world where screens dominate so much of our attention, I think it’s more important than ever for kids to have access to something different—something that encourages focus, imagination, and real, uninterrupted time away from their phones. Because not every kid gets the chance to turn pages the way many of us do—and that’s something worth changing.
