My grandmother's breast cancer was detected on a routine mammogram. She caught it at an early stage and she’s still with us today. She benefitted from early detection. And I benefited from early detection. 

That’s not luck we should leave to chance. But for so many women, it is. When it comes to breast cancer, time is everything. 

Some women delay an appointment to care for their families. Others can’t take time off work for a three-hour trip to a specialist, while many women don’t have the hours, days, or weeks to fight their insurer over diagnostic testing. Transportation, cost, language barriers, and a confusing medical system all stand between women and the care they need. Every one of those women is someone’s grandmother, mother, sister, or friend.

That’s why I’m supporting the Brem Foundation, which works to make early detection accessible to everyone through screening and diagnostic access, education, and advocacy.

This October, I’m raising $700 so more women get access to lifesaving breast care. That could mean 8 round-trip rides to breast health appointments, 4 bilateral ultrasounds, or 2 diagnostic mammograms.
