Kalamazoo Bronson Hospital Nicu holds a very special place in my families hearts. ❤️

??In 2016 our sweet twins were born at 33weeks, weighing 3lbs 15oz and 4lbs 3oz. While the girls really were born rather healthy, they still had some learning and growing to do in the NICU, before they were able to come home with us. The twins were in the NICU for 19 days. While many babies in the NICU are there for far longer than 19 days, it is still a huge learning and trust process to leave your tiny little babies 24/7. The Bronson hospital NICU staff helps ease this and guided us as a family daily, but more than that they cared so deeply for our tiny little warriors.

Our families experience with the NICU is a tad different than most. While the twins were not the main concern, as some may know I experienced a very traumatic few weeks after delivery of the twins. I was hospitalized at Bronson Hospital for 2 weeks following delivery due to kidney failure etc. we had many ups and downs and unknowns those 2 weeks. I say all of this to say that the NICU staff not only cared for our babies but for Neil and I as well. While we weren’t able to see the twins daily due to my condition, they would reassure us that my health was most important and that they had the twins taken care of while I focused on getting better myself. Not once did we have to worry about the girls.

All of this to say that we try to give back to the Bronson NICU each year as a way of saying thank you. This year will be our third year walking in the children’s hospitals 5k walk/run. We currently have a fundraiser going and a goal of $500 to raise by September, all of which will go to the children’s hospital.

Thank you all in advance for your support. ?
