Hi there!

Check out Sofia and me in the photo above from last year's BCS Million Step Challenge. Next weekend with be Sofia's 5th BCS Million Step Challenge. Granted, she was in a stroller for the first four, but last year she walked (really mostly ran!) the full mile. This year Sofia and I will be walking (and running) again, and Sofia is excited to volunteer for the first time before the event where she will be handing out wellness literature to walkers. In typical five year old fashion, she has made it clear to me that she doesn't need any help.

The Million Step Challenge has inspired hundreds of people to walk or donate to this annual event that benefits the work of Brooklyn Community Services.  The funds raised are a vital lifeline that sustains the programs and services that BCS offers to over 13,000 Brooklynites living in underserved communities each year.  

With each step and every donation, you can help BCS have the necessary resources to support early childhood education, afterschool programs, academic support for youth, counseling and services to strengthen families in crises, and job training and wellness programs.
