Abby and I are going from Couch to 5K in 30 days! Well, I am…Abby just needs to sustain her energy for 3.2 miles! I haven’t ran a 5K in many years, ran as little as I can for my work.
I adopted Abby from BDAR in October '16. She is my 3 year old Black Lab/Border Collie mix who loves all adventures. I wanted another dog in the house as a companion for my little dog, Chico and all three of us love adventure! Chico being little keeps up, but needs to be carried some of the time.
Abby was a participant of the DOG program and it really shows by her manners and enjoyment being in public. BDAR organization is a great program for many dogs, including Abby and people. From members of the DOG Program to the Fosters, and volunteers in between are giving these pups a second chance.
We are running about 1-3 miles a week, but mostly walks around our neighborhood. But… this summer we have a To Do list of many hikes and backpacking and we need to get in better shape. What a better way to reach our fitness goals and support the program that allowed me to be united with Abby than a 5K?
