2023 Boston Marathon Recap
Autism is the universe’s way of offsetting the excessive amount of boring people on Earth
I am running the 2023 Berlin Marathon for my brother, Jake, who was diagnosed with autism when he was 3 years old. We moved across the world from Tokyo, Japan to Fort Wayne, Indiana to give Jake the best life possible. We are incredibly grateful to have had access to services and programs in the Fort Wayne community to support Jake on his journey. In the process my mom, Pam, started a non-profit called Autism Community Together, ACT, to support people and families like ours live life to the fullest.
Much like ACT, the Flutie Foundation aims to improve the quality of life for individuals and families like ours. They are dedicated to increasing the awareness of autism and the unique challenges of families faced by it everyday. Your donation will continue to improve the daily lives of people and families with direct financial support to educational, therapeutic, and recreational services and programs.
Jake is now 23, a graduate from Homestead High School, a student at Purdue University Fort Wayne, and got his first job working at his favorite place, Pizza Hut. We all know it takes a village to get a diploma, work a part time job, and make some friends along the way. It isn't easy. Jake and I talk about fairness often. It's so easy to fall into the comparison game... "life isn't fair". So I'm on a journey to show Jake, that it may not be fair but it is so worth living.
So here's to Jake– one of the funniest, most candid, loveable people you will ever meet. I am so grateful to be his sister and walk through life with him. If you vibe with us, your support of spreading the word, sharing the link, and/or donating are sincerely valued. With big love and thanks, LET'S DO THIS!!!!!
My Why
Surround yourself with relentless humans. People who plan in decades, but live in moments. Train like savages, but create like artists.
Obsess in work, relax in life. People who know this is finite, and choose to play infinite games. Find people going up mountains. Climb together.

I moved to Boston in 2020 and soon crossed the Boston Marathon off my bucket list in April 2022. I quickly learned there's this thing called the Abbott World Marathon Majors. And I thought, "Sh*t well now I have to do those too..." So here we are, in pursuit of raising awareness and acceptance of autism, neurodiversity, and overall being a kind human, I am off to run in six cities all over the world to do just that– and meet some relentless humans along the way.
