Welcome to my fundraising page for the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism! My name is Mark Carrasquillo. I will be running in the 2025 BMW Berlin Marathon in September as a proud member of Dougie’s Team for Autism, and in honor of our close family friend, Max. I am asking for your support.
I am currently a sergeant with the Wellesley Police Department where I have been employed since 2006. My family resides in Norwell, MA where my wife and I enjoy being involved in our two young children’s sports and activities.
Although I have always been a runner, in recent years after the sudden loss of a dear friend, I have focused on running for various causes. I completed the Boston Marathon in 2023 and hope to participate in other world marathons after Berlin.
Through my work in law enforcement, I have had opportunities to promote a better understanding of social interactions and communications between police officers and individuals with autism. I have also experienced the positive outcomes resulting from autism awareness and improved police training, which has been made possible by organizations such as the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation.
We all know families who are impacted by autism and we know the joys and the challenges. Our close family friend Max is an amazing 13-year-old boy who loves swinging, trampoline parks and being with his family and his Goldendoodle, Sparky. Through generous charitable contributions and fundraisers, the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation is in a unique position to assist and support Max and his family should they ever need it.
