I have been a case manager with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lorain County for the past 8 years. Since then, I have seen the positive impact having a mentor can have on a child's life - I see them start doing better in school. I see improved relationships between them and their peers and family members. I see them avoid risky behaviors. I see them start to realize their true potential and believe in themselves - they just needed a friend to help them along the way. Since we are volunteer driven and this is a free service to the families we serve, we count on every dollar to continue providing services and grow our program as the need for caring mentors becomes greater in our community.
