In-person attendance will be at the BGC Mercer Spruce Street Clubhouse located at 1040 Spruce St in Lawrenceville, NJ (boxed lunch included) or register to attend online and a link will be sent via email to join the conference through Zoom.

Students will attend (3) 45 minute workshops on variety of STEM related topics each presented by volunteers. The also attend (3) 15 Career Exploration sessions.

In person cost is $35 (includes lunch & supplies) 

On-line cost is $20 (includes supplies)

Please select four workshops when registering and BGC staff will assign students to attend three of the four, please note some worskshops require materials to be picked up.

Build  A Robot - Build a robot using a LEGO kit and bring the robot to life. Presented by Princeton STEM Academy 
Connected Car -  AT&T’s Mobility Solutions can navigate and enhance the driving experience.  See videos of the newest mobility features in the coolest cars.  Presented by Dominic Macaluso, AT&T
Exploring STEM while in High School - Learn about possible STEM career pathways that are available and programs  such as electrical, automotive, and architectural design that are available to high school students. Presented by Michael Orfe, Mercer County Technical Schools
Germ Transmission - The history of germs, pandemics, viral transmission and how to help stop the spread of viruses. *Material pick-up Presented by Bristol Myers Squibb
Get Paid for STEM - Statistics and fun facts about STEM Careers and the journey to obtain them.  Presented by Trevor Jackson and Jackie Jackson, AT&T
How Medicine Works- How do chemistry, biology, mathematics, and data help us understand what happens to medicine after people take it? Presenter Otsuka
Introduction to Java-Coding - Learn the basics of Java computer programming language and then write a program.
IT Tech –  Comcast IT staff reviewing the basics of computer hardware/software, networking & security. Participants will learn about the role of corporate IT professionals. Presented by Michael Herbert & Kina Steele-Crawford, Comcast 
Machine Learning - What is Machine learning and whyis it currently being used? What are the differences between programming, machine learning, and Artificial Intelligence? Presented by Otsuka
Making Meds - Learn about current drug delivery methods—oral, injection, topical, inhalation and suppository—and the challenges of taking a new drug to market. Brainstorm about ways to give medicine to a patient who is unable to swallow. Presented by Sandoz
Microscopic Wonders of the World - Clinical microbiology and medical laboratory  science. Presented by Lisa Shave, Mercer County Community College
Oceans - Create a miniature ocean, learn about ocean waves and currents.  *Material pick-up  Presented by Sonya Legg, Princeton University
Slime Time - Discover the many shapes, create and play with the most entertaining and useful molecule known to science...polymers. *Material pick-up Presented by Mad Science of Central NJ
Moving from Basketball Team to Engineering Team-  How do lessons learned from the being on the basketball team translate to helping manage the team at work.  Presented by Kobina Bedu-Amissah, AT&T

The Cell and How it Works-  Science is just an explanation of what happens in the nature around us. Presenter Otsuka

About BGC Mercer:
