Join the Bikes Not Bombs Community on a Bike Ride for Social Change!

We are excited to announce the 36th annual Bike-A-Thon on September 10th, 2023! Register to ride one of five scenic routes: 10 mile, 35 mile, 50 mile, 63 mile, or 105 mile road routes. Each route will be supported with rest stops, food, and route markings. Your participation will support work that is needed more than ever in support of our mission: to use the bicycle as vehicle for social change to achieve economic mobility for Black and other marginalized people in Boston and the Global South.

This year with your support, Bikes Not Bombs will:

  • Engage over 200 people in Bike School at our Hub in Jamaica Plain and at our new Roxbury Hub at Children's Services of Roxbury;

  • Employ over 40 young people as paid Youth Apprentices who build critical workplace skills in a supportive and caring environment.

  • Provide free and affordable bike repair services to underserved communities in Boston through our Chain Reaction mobile bike repair program.

  • Ship thousands of bicycles overseas to our partners in the Global South who are working to advance environmental, economic, and social justice initiatives.

Riders of all ages are encouraged to participate by registering and meeting their fundraising minimums:

We can't wait to spend the day with you, using the bicycle as a vehicle for social change!

Please note that we are keeping up with all CDC recommendations with respect to COVID-19 safety precautions. We will communicate any necessary safety guidelines to all participants before the ride. We require all riders to wear a helmet while riding during the Bike-A-Thon. Please contact Julia Karr with any questions at
