During my student days at Northeastern, when my bike was my only way of getting around town, Bikes Not Bombs had my back with their affordable and excellent team of mechanics. This year I want to give back to them and help raise funds that fuel their great charity programs, by taking part in their yearly Bike-a-Thon! The charity race takes place in the western suburbs of Boston, where I'll be biking on the 25-mile route.
For those unfamiliar, Bikes Not Bombs is a Boston area bicycle institution which recycles and repurposes old donated bikes and parts to send to marginalized communities in low-income countries. Locally, BNB also teaches teens bike maintenance and safety skills to build up bicycles from the organization's donated parts which the teens can ultimately keep for themselves.
This is my first time entering a bike race, and I'm super excited to participate! I'm also stoked to be helping out a pillar of our local community, and I hope you are too. Thanks for your donations and support!
