I'm riding in the Bike-A-Thon again! You might be asking, didn't you just do this, and yes, but it was moved up to June this year from September.

Last year I rode 105 miles, my longest day ever, up the hills in Harvard, struggling through the hills and twists of Brookline to the finish, while being fed lots of snacks on a perfect day for biking. And going to do it again, except only 65 miles (including my ride from home and back. They've moved the 100mi to a separate day, possibly because we were slow enough last year that they were packing up by the time we got back, and we were sad to miss the party). I also love this ride because it's a fundraising ride that supports more biking, that just makes sense!

My bike advocacy is mostly sending emails and donating, and I appreciate this ride in being able to support the bike community both in Boston and across the world. Biking in Boston keeps getting better and better as the community grows and more bike infrastructure is built. Here are some great things that Bikes Not Bombs does:

• Engage and empower over 200 people in Bike School at our Hub in Jamaica Plain and at the MA Department of Youth Services (DYS) center in Roslindale.
• Employ over 40 young people as paid Youth Apprentices who build critical workplace skills in a supportive and caring environment.
• Advocate for safe and equitable transportation options for underserved communities in Boston.
• Ship thousands of bicycles overseas to our partners in the Global South who are working to advance environmental, economic, and social justice initiatives. 
• Provide free and affordable bike repair services to underserved communities in Boston through our Chain Reaction mobile bike repair program

Last year on my first ride, I was one of the top 25 fundraisers thanks to your support, let's do it again!
