Make friends, do good and ride bikes. What could be better?

I love riding my bicycle. It’s been an important part of my retirement and, for the past four years, I have been happy to combine that with a wonderful organization to promote community, sustainability, international relations, and youth leadership development. Bikes Not Bombs is a social justice organization based in Jamaica Plain (Boston) that ships bicycles overseas and also uses bikes to train local youth to become leaders in their community.

On June 9th, I’m riding the 50 mile route with a team of Thursday Night volunteers. We get together once a week, to prepare donated bicycles for packing into shipping containers to partner agencies in Africa and Central America.

Can you donate $1 or $2 a mile to support my ride? All money raised goes to support Bikes Not Bombs local and international operations. Our Thursday Night Team is a fantastic group that deserves your support.
