I've been volunteering at Bikes Not Bombs for almost 5 years now, and this will be my 4th Bike-A-Thon. I volunteer nearly every week at volunteer night, preparing bikes and parts for shipping for international programs. I also volunteer at bike drives helping to collect bike donations, and at container loadings.

The Bike-A-Thon is Bikes Not Bombs' largest fund raiser. It provides the funds necessary to continue all of the great work currently being done, both locally and abroad. Locally, youth are able to earn bikes while learning how to maintain them and safely ride them. Bike mechanic apprenticeships are also made available through the bike shop. Internationally, Bikes Not Bombs provides thousands of bikes every year to partners in Central America and Africa. These bikes provide affordable transportation for people, allowing them easier access to basic needs such as health care, and jobs.
