This will be the fourth Bike-A-Thon that I've ridden in, and my first virtual one!  The plan is to rack up miles during the week, some of which will be on a bike camping trip with other regular BNB volunteers.  My goal is to do 100+ the week of September 12-20th and fundraise $600.

I have been volunteering with Bikes Not Bombs for almost five years now and have been on the Board of Directors for over a year.  During this time, I've seen the dedication of the staff and volunteers, been inspired by the work of people in the local and overseas programs, and watched thousands of bicycles get recycled. While we've had our challenges this year, we've still been able to run modified versions of our youth programs, provide our partner program LWD (Learn Work Develop) in Rwanda with a container of over 500 bicycles, and match essential workers with bicycles as the official provider of the Boston "Bike Match" program. Now more than ever, bikes play an essential role in the lives of our international partners and our community in Boston, and I'm excited to help BNB reach their fundraising goal so they can continue this amazing work.
