Bike-A-Thon 2021

Biking has played a large part in my weight loss and fitness journey as an exercise tool, and for a number of years I've been a frequent bike commuter. I've ridden enough miles to ride around the Earth at least once! Being involved with cycling has made me passionate about making biking more accessible.

However, to date, I have not done a century ride! These rides take logistical support, and I've largely been riding alone. However, Eric and Pham have agreed to join me on a 104 mile fundraising ride for Bikes Not Bombs. It's a fully supported event and will be my first century ride.

Bikes Not Bombs is a non-profit that sees biking as a tool for social change and economic mobility for Black and other marginalized people in Boston and the global south. Here in Boston they run youth programs and clinics to promote biking related skills and support the local biking community. Internationally, working with partner organizations, they've shipped 80,336 bikes to areas where they're needed for economic development.
