Bikes Not Bombs runs Youth Programs to teach teens bicycle safety and mechanics skills. They also donate bikes internationally and offer bikes to the youth participating in their own programs.
I started biking more last spring after I was sent home in the pandemic back to NJ. Since then, it feels meaningful to me because it allowed me to explore (and feel much more connected to) the area I grew up in.
I’m participating in Bike-A-Thon with my friends Emma and Martin and fundraising for Bikes not Bombs because I hope for others to have the same opportunity to bike/cycle safely for their own needs, whether for transportation or as an enjoyable activity.
