Most events have been canceled during the last year due to the pandemic. Bicycle riding is the one huge exception.
Please help me to help out the Bikes Not Bombs organization refurbish used bikes to ship to poor countries!
I'm trying to decide between joining their 30-mile ride and their 50-mile ride. Your support will encourage me to ride the longer distance. I haven't ridden 50 miles in one day since my 50th birthday two decades ago!
Each year Bikes Not Bombs collect roughly 5,000 used bicycles and tons of used parts from their supporters around Greater Boston and New England.
They ship most of these bikes overseas to economic development projects through International Partners in Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
Some of the bikes are repurposed in their Youth Programs where teens learn bicycle safety and mechanics skills in the process of earning bikes to keep for themselves.
