Addison was diagnosed with brain cancer days before her 8th birthday. She endured surgery for a biopsy, port placement & removal, the loss of her hair, 6 rounds of in patient chemotherapy, brain surgery, 30 radiation sessions & so much more.  Addison missed most of her 2nd grade year at school & over a year of her childhood.  Despite all of these challenges & pain, she remains caring & empathetic & is such a bright light. Cancer still affects her on a daily basis, but she is determined to live life to the fullest & is such an inspiration. 

AAU has been such a blessing in the excruciating journey of childhood cancer. They have provided financial support & a community.  Our family has participated in many events hosted by AAU that provided much needed fun & moments of happiness in a very dark time in our lives.
