Maysen is brave, resilient, and joyful! At just two months old, our daughter Maysen was diagnosed with advanced retinoblastoma, a rare eye cancer. Overnight, our world shifted from caring for a newborn and her big sister, Brielle, to navigating treatment plans, monthly trips to New York City, and the uncertainty that comes with a childhood cancer diagnosis. Maysen underwent three rounds of intra-arterial chemotherapy and more procedures under anesthesia than most people experience in a lifetime. Through every appointment, flight, and scan she continued to smile, grow, and remind us what courage looks like. Today, after an incredible fight, her tumors are fully regressed and inactive, and she is thriving as a spunky and fearless two year old.

Angels Among Us became part of our village during one of the hardest seasons of our lives. Their financial support helped ease the burden of repeated travel for treatment, but their impact went far beyond dollars and cents. Through family events and their genuine care, they reminded us that we weren’t alone. Childhood cancer can feel incredibly isolating, yet AAU created opportunities for us to feel understood, supported, and surrounded by people who truly “get it.” They provided hope during difficult days and celebrated victories right alongside us.

One of the greatest gifts from this journey has been witnessing the power of community. While no parent wants to hear the words “your child has cancer,” we have been overwhelmed by the love and support that has carried us through. Organizations like Angels Among Us allow families to focus on their child instead of the financial and emotional weight that often comes with treatment. Every donation is helping families like ours find hope when they need it most. We are forever grateful to be one of those families and incredibly proud of the little warrior who continues to inspire us every day.
