Lily was diagnosed with high risk ALL (acute lymphoblastic leukemia)when she was five years old. Her chemo treatment plan was 2.5 years long. Lily endured over 900 days of chemo. Lily had over a dozen whole blood & platelet transfusions. She had port surgeries and numerous spinal taps. 

Once Lily was done with her chemo treatment she had many side effects from chemo. One side effect was nerve pain when walking or sleeping. Years of specialists to help with mind, body & spirit damage from chemo. Even though you cannot tell looking at Lily, we still see specialists today from the effects of chemo. 

Lily is now 12 years cancer free. She is tested every year for life to make sure she stays cancer free. Next year they will do MRI of her heart to continue to check for damages of chemo. Lily will attend UNL this fall as a sophomore for major in Interior Design and two minors Architect/Business.

We pray and hope she continues to stay cancer free. We thank Angels Among Us for helping us with our car payments when she was going through cancer. I was self employed and could not work my normal schedule as a house keeper because of her treatment and was trying to pay for specialist to work with her brother who was autistic. Angels Among Us helped us again this year by awarding Lily with a $2,000 scholarship towards her college.  We appreciate all the time, energy & love given to our family & other cancer fighting families. It take a village to provide support and give hope!
