Breckyn was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) at just five years old after complaining of persistent back pain. We took her in for bloodwork, and when the results came back concerning, our lives changed forever. That day marked the beginning of a two-and-a-half-year journey filled with courage, resilience, and hope. Originally from Broken Bow, Nebraska, our family relocated to Omaha for the first nine months of Breckyn's treatment so we could be closer to Children's Hospital. Our days were filled with finger pokes, countless blood draws, chemotherapy treatments, and hospital visits. Through it all, we were incredibly grateful that our family was able to stay together, including our son, Holt, who was just two years old when his sister began treatment.

During one of the most difficult times in our lives, Angels Among Us was there to support us. Their financial assistance eased the burden of relocating to Omaha and allowed us to focus on what truly matters, helping our daughter heal and get back to good health. Eight months ago, Breckyn completed her treatment, a milestone we once only dreamed of reaching. While cancer changed our lives in ways we never imagined, it also showed us the strength of our daughter, the importance of family, and the incredible impact of organizations like Angels Among Us. Their generosity gave us peace of mind when we needed it most, and we will always be grateful for the role they played in our family's journey.
