This year, I’m celebrating my birthday a little differently.
Instead of gifts, I’m dedicating my birthday to New Hope Community, an organization that supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live lives filled with choice, independence, and opportunity.
I fell in love with New Hope community when I first moved to the area 20 years ago and started teaching for the special college program for individuals with disabilities. The New Hope staff that came with their residents to the program were special and provided caring support in a way I had never seen before. The staff there worked and still work tirelessly to ensure that the people they serve live their best life. I am proud to serve on the New Hope Community Board of Directors and chair the Development Committee.
If you’d like to celebrate with me, I’d be so grateful if you’d consider making a gift, any amount, in honor of my birthday. You’re also welcome to leave a birthday wish or message; I’d love to hear from you.
