2025 Boston Marathon

Brienne Marshall

About me!

Hey, I'm Brie!

I am a 39 year old mom of three (Ethan, Aidan, and Abby)--plus one fur baby, Calvin!  I live in Charlestown, Massachusetts with my husband, Jonathan, and I work as a per diem occupational therapist at the Spaulding Hospital of Cambridge.  If I am not out and about in our wonderful neighborhood with one or three of our children, you can find me volunteering for our local mother's association board, or sweating it out in one of our local workout classes (shout out to MYSTRYDE, The Box, and Barry's Bootcamp).  Although I am an avid runner, I have not run a full marathon since 2016.  I am so excited to be running the 2025 Boston Marathon for the Flutie Foundation, a charity that is near and dear to our family's hearts.

Tell your donors who you are and why you are running!

I am so honored to be running the 2025 Boston Marathon for the Flutie Foundation (aka Dougie's Team). When our son Ethan received a diagnosis of ASD in 2021, our family fell on some dark days. The love and support we received from family, friends, therapists, and medical professionals (just to name a few) was truly immeasurable. We were fortunate enough to be able to get Ethan the services he needed as well as enroll him in an amazing school. These are things that we do not take lightly, and we know that the progress he has made is 100% due to the services and providers we were able to access.  Ever since these early days, I have known that at some point I wanted to do something big to give back for all the love we have received over the years.

2025 is a big year.  Ethan will be completing Kindergarten!  I am turning 40.  And Jonathan and I will be celebrating 10 years of marriage.  This is a big year for our family, and it only seems fitting for me to dust off my running shoes and run another 26.2 (after an 8 year hiatus)!

Ethan is a force.  His daily determination and willingness to never give up is truly inspiring.  He has done so much hard work over the years, and I have been looking for something I could do to thank him for this.  When I was lucky enough to be picked for Dougie's Team, I knew that this was it.

Please consider donating to this great cause.  Truly, any amount will be much appreciated!  I cannot wait to cross the finish line next April and make everyone as proud as Ethan makes us everyday!
