Being able to run the Boston Marathon once is a special life experience. Getting the chance to run it multiple times and supporting a charity like the Flutie Foundation is truly an experience that cannot be put into words. Last year was my first year back to Boston after 5 years away from the event and my first year supporting the Flutie Foundation. The teamwork and camaraderie not only through the race but through training was unmatched, people supporting people regardless of backgrounds. This is what makes running special and why I love it so deeply.
The Flutie foundation helps support families and individuals with autism through providing services and programs directly to those affected by autism, grants to families to help fund the necessary care of their loved ones, and helping communities better support those affected to be more inclusive. All of the work the Flutie Foundation does is centered around allowing those impacted by autism to live life to the fullest.
