Why Bostréal?

I love cycling! It's my favorite way to spend time and enjoy the outdoors. I believe cycling is one of the best ways to explore new places. It's the perfect pace to take in the scenery, while also covering distance.

This year, I will be taking part in the Bostreal bike ride. Bostreal is a 400-mile five-day journey (ranging from 55 - 100 miles/day) by bicycle from Boston to Montréal to raise funds for the Boston Cyclists Union (BCU). As someone who commutes to work by bike in Boston, I understand firsthand the importance of safe and proper cycling infrastructure. The BCU's work directly impacts me and makes my life in Boston safer.

Who is the Boston Cyclists Union?

The Boston Cyclists Union (bostoncyclistsunion.org) is a dedicated 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that does A LOT to build a safer and more connected Boston for everyone. The BCU advocates for policies that make streets safer, encourages more people to get on bikes, and supports transit growth. Beyond advocacy, the BCU also offers community programs such as free bike repairs and educational workshops.

Making cycling safer does more than promote sustainable and healthy travel; it reduces car traffic congestion and eases parking for car drivers, benefiting the entire community.

Every dollar raised goes directly to furthering BCU's mission. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit (EIN: 80-0579364), your contributions are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. 

I am very much looking forward to this journey. This will be the longest trip I have ever taken on a bike.
