Alexandra's Bos-tréal Fundraising Page
Why Bostréal?
May 23-30th I’m cycling 400-miles from Boston to Montréal as part of Bos/treal to support the Boston Cyclists Union and their work to make biking safer, more accessible, and more equitable across the city.
Commuting and tinkering with my bike has been such a personal joy for me since moving to Cambridge but it also connects to a much larger impact. It reduces traffic, lowers emissions, and connects people more closely to their communities. Supporting better bike infrastructure means supporting cleaner air, safer streets, and smoother transportation for everyone (including people driving cars!).
This ride is heavily volunteer-operated and will take months of training and preparation, and I’m raising funds to support the Boston Cyclists Union’s advocacy while meeting the fundraising commitment required for the ride.
Thank You Gifts!
If you’d like to support me, I would be so grateful. I’d love to give something back- for every $25 of donation I can send you a post card from along the route! Your company many donation match as well- let me know if you need help navigating this (usually your HR will have a simple donation match form).
Thank you so much for supporting this ride and the work to make cycling a more viable way to move through our city.
Cycling is, at its core, human-centered, sustainable, and accessible!
It cuts traffic, lowers emissions, and only runs out of gas when I forget to pack a snack. This ride is part training arc, part- a huge learning opportunity, and mainly a fundraising effort to support Boston’s bike community and for me to advocate for better, more climate-conscious transportation. Swipe to see more about what cycling has meant to me and to my friends in Cambridge.
My first-ever bike-packing journey was a few very cloudy days traversing the Cape. We threw our bikes literally under a bus and started on the saddle in Plymouth, Massachusetts, looped through Provincetown, and ended back in Boston’s North End by ferry. I was also felt very lucky because I asked my two extremely adventurous friends to join me with zero training or experience, and they said Yes!
I keep learning my greatest joy is doing hard things while seeing the world with people I love! (Talia Freund is on the left, enjoying post-triathlon carb, also fundraising for BOS-TREAL, check her page out!)
Support the mission for improving cycling infrastructure in Boston!
The Boston Cyclist's Union's mission is to transform the streets of greater Boston into equitable and inviting people-centered spaces affording access and connection for every body. We accomplish this through organizing, advocacy, public actions, and holding city and state agencies accountable to build out the network of safe, protected bike infrastructure. Help raise awareness by sharing this page, donating, and/or following my journey!
