I first fell in love with bike commuting in 2016 while studying abroad in Copenhagen. Seeing how seamlessly cycling was integrated into daily life completely changed how I thought about transportation. Bikes weren’t just recreational. They were reliable, efficient, and accessible to everyone.
Since then, I’ve continued commuting by bike in several East Coast cities, and it’s consistently been the quickest and most dependable way for me to get around. But I’ve also seen how much safer and more accessible it could be for everyone with better infrastructure.
I’m riding 400 miles over a week long adventure from Boston to Montreal to support the Boston Cyclists Union because everyone deserves safe access to bike lanes and streets designed for people, not just cars. Cycling builds community, improves public health, and reduces our environmental impact, so I’m thrilled to fundraise for a near and dear cause and work with the Bostreal community to help more people feel empowered to ride in Boston!

The Comeback Ride
During the summer of 2019, I herniated a disc in my lower back while training for my second triathlon. Growing up as an athlete, I had experienced many injuries before, but nothing compared to the debilitating pain and life limitations I faced during the first few years of navigating this injury. For a long time, I truly believed I might never be able to bike more than a couple of miles again. Fast forward six years to spring 2025. With the right combination of training, strengthening, rest, and a lot of patience (and distress tolerance), I decided to commit to biking again and even try one more triathlon. I’m proud to say that over the past year I’ve completed three triathlons and a nearly 50-mile bike ride, almost entirely pain free. Because of this journey, I’m excited to keep pushing myself and to show others what can be possible after injury when recovery is approached with care, persistence, and the right support.
I was lucky enough to be introduced to gravel biking this fall! Gravel biking is another amazing way to get around and/or way to experience areas of nature that are not easily accessible by foot or car.
