On March 12th 2017, we experienced the worst day of our lives. I noticed a decrease in movement of our twins, Sophie and Ruby.  We set off to the hospital to get checked and the nurses couldn't find heartbeats so our Dr was called in to do an ultrasound. Our girls appeared on the screen completely still with no heartbeats, just floating. We were no strangers to pregnancy loss because we also had an early miscarriage during our first pregnancy. We went home to get over the initial shock and prepare ourselves for the next step, delivering our stillborn daughters. Two days later we had them in our arms. We introduced them to our family members who were there anxiously awaiting their arrival and helping us along the way through the contractions, grieving, and final arrangements.

The next few months were extremely rough on our family. We ended up getting pregnant again. While most people would be over the moon with excitement, we were so guarded and worried the whole way. I found it hard to be happy or optimistic most days. Once I hit the 2nd trimester I started having flashbacks, anxiety attacks, and very vivid nightmares. I found help that I needed through Star Legacy Foundation. I was able to connect with other moms in the same situation and it helped me lighten the emotional issues I was having. Their services are free and have had a huge impact on our family.

This is why we are having this fundraiser in memory of Sophie and Ruby! ♡♡  Come out and learn about the amazing research and services they offer and celebrate our girls at the same time!
