Join Braskem Volunteers, Friends and Family to help India Beat Covid-19

India is in the grip of the second wave of Covid-19 with devastating consequences and loss of lives due shortage of oxygen, ventilators and hospital beds. The spread to rural areas poses an even bigger threat, due to poor health facilities and lack of access for the rural communities. 30-40 people from the rural villages test positive every day, and the number is growing.

Together with Braskem Volunteers, Friends and Family, WomenServe is crowdfunding for our Covid-19 Second Wave response. Our work is focused on community mobilization and awareness for protection and vaccination, support to government health facilities, and transportation for better patient mobility.

Your donations will go directly to local village health centers and rural communities of Rajasthan, India facing Covid-19.

Government Health Systems

We focus on providing crucial medical supplies to healthcare systems, including:

  • Oxygen concentrators and oxygen cylinders
  • Health and wellness kits (oximeters, thermometers, ORS, paracetamol)
  • Masks for hospital staff and patients
  • PPE kits for healthcare workers
  • Ambulances equipped with oxygen for patient transportation

Community Education

Our team provides remote training, communication and resources for rural communities to learn COVID safety measures:

  • Social distancing, isolation and care, hygiene, sanitation and vaccination are important protective measures in preventing the spread of Covid-19
  • We provide Protections Kits (masks, sanitizer, soap) to community groups

Livelihood Support to Women

Some of the most vulnerable families are at a higher risk than ever due to loss of income. Team members collaborate with local agencies to identify and support needy families:

  • Rehabilitation measures to support families to cope with lockdown resulting in loss of livelihoods
  • Women in Self Help Groups are supported and trained to sew of 3-5 layered masks to supply to their communities
