Last year, I had the opportunity to help award a scholarship to a student from the Bronx, and it completely changed the way I think about community impact.

Growing up in the Bronx, you learn early how much talent exists here, but you also see how often people just need someone to believe in them, invest in them, and open a door. Being part of helping a Bronx student continue their education reminded me that support can create a ripple effect far beyond a single moment.

That experience stayed with me. It made this marathon and this fundraising effort feel much bigger than running.

I’m running the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon with the Bronx Burners Marathon Team to support BronxBurnersRC because I believe in what this community represents: opportunity, mentorship, representation, and showing people from the Bronx what’s possible.

Running has changed my life physically, mentally, and spiritually. Now I want to help create those same opportunities and support systems for others coming from the communities that shaped me.
